Abstract
Salvador Allende’s last speech marks the beginning of his myth and political legacy, which is debated between two perspectives: one that sees Allende as a forward-thinking social democrat, striving to achieve socialism through peaceful and legal means, and another that views him as a totalitarian revolutionary. The "Chilean road to socialism" aimed to transfer wealth from the bourgeoisie to the workers, but its implementation encountered legal obstacles and violence, both of which will be discussed in this essay.
