Some Thougthds from a theologian and mystic of the twelfth century: William of Saint-Thierry in the Expositio super Cantica Canticorum.

This research has sought to emphasize the charity and the Holy Spirit as relevant issues in the conception of a mystical theology. Our author notes that the spiritual life consist of access to God’s likeness from charity. William, twelfth-century theologian perceives that the Holy Spirit transforms us into the Christian life, where love is the engine that energizes and penetrates the same man loving. This statement highlights that the Christian experience in not feasible from human forces, because it is the quintessential work of God in man.
